This Privacy Policy explains how Home Tuition Canada International (“HTCI”) and its initiative Senitent (collectively, “we,” “us,” “our”) collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use Projects – HTuition Canada (the “Site”) and when you register for and attend our programs.

If you are in the EU/UK, HTCI is the data controller for GDPR/UK GDPR purposes. In Canada, we follow PIPEDA (and applicable provincial laws).

This policy does not cover third-party websites we link to.

  • Program Registration: full name, email, phone, organization (optional), “how you heard about the program,” notes (optional), and your explicit consent.
  • Attendance: for in-person programs, we record your daily status (present/absent/excused) between the program’s start and end dates.
  • Contact & support: any details you include when you contact us (e.g., inquiries, partnership/volunteer interest).

B. Information collected automatically (Site)

  • IP address, device/browser, pages viewed, time/date, referring pages, and basic diagnostic data.
  • Cookies/similar technologies (see Cookies below).

C. Children & youth

Where programs involve minors, we obtain verifiable parental/guardian consent before collecting personal information or recording attendance.

4) How we use information (and legal bases)

Program operations (contract/legitimate interests; consent where required)

  • Process registrations and confirmations
  • Communicate schedules, updates, and logistics
  • Record attendance to plan resources, improve programming, and confirm participation/certificates

Communications (contract/legitimate interests)

  • Respond to inquiries, send reminders, share program resources
  • Optional updates about relevant programs (with opt-out)

Site improvement & security (legitimate interests; consent for non-essential cookies)

  • Analyze usage to troubleshoot and improve the Site
  • Protect against fraud/abuse, maintain integrity of services

Legal compliance (legal obligation/legitimate interests; vital interests in rare cases)

We do not sell personal information.

6) Attendance tracking

For registrants, authorized staff may mark your daily status (present/absent/excused) only within the program’s defined start–end dates. We use this to:

  • Confirm participation and eligibility for resources/certificates
  • Improve programming and plan capacity
  • Report aggregated metrics (no public disclosure of individual attendance)

Access to attendance data is restricted to authorized administrators.

7) Sharing your information

We may share personal data with:

  • Service providers/Processors (e.g., site hosting, email services, analytics) under contracts and safeguards
  • Authorities when required by law or to protect rights/safety
  • Organizational changes (e.g., merger/restructure) under equivalent protections

We do not allow third parties to use your data for their own marketing.

8) International transfers

Some service providers may process data outside of Canada. Where applicable, we use lawful transfer mechanisms (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses under GDPR) and implement appropriate safeguards.

9) Data retention

  • Registration & attendance records: retained for the duration of the program and typically up to 24 months thereafter for reporting/support, unless law requires longer.
  • Communications: retained as necessary to respond and maintain records.
  • Cookies/analytics: retained per their configured lifetimes.

After retention ends, we securely delete or anonymize the data.

10) Security

We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards (role-based access, least-privilege permissions, encrypted transport, audit/monitoring where appropriate). No system is 100% secure; risks cannot be eliminated entirely.

11) Your rights & choices

Canada (PIPEDA):
You may request access to and correction of your personal information, and withdraw consent (subject to legal/contractual limits).

EU/UK (GDPR/UK GDPR):
You may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object, data portability, and withdraw consent at any time (without affecting past lawful processing). You can also lodge a complaint with your data protection authority.

Marketing choices:
If you receive optional updates from us, you can opt out any time using the link in the message or by emailing us.

12) Children’s privacy

For minors, we collect personal information only with verifiable parental/guardian consent. Parents/guardians may review, correct, or request deletion of their child’s information by contacting us at [email protected].

13) Third-party links

Our Site may link to external sites or embed third-party content (e.g., videos). We are not responsible for their privacy practices. Review their policies before providing information.

14) Changes to this policy

We may update this policy periodically. We will revise the “Effective date” and, if changes are material, provide more prominent notice or seek consent where required.
